This summer has flown by for me, and the impending school year begins in a mere week. I'm sad to see summer come to an end, but really thankful for a job to return to this coming year.
Our first "trip" for the summer was to Wilmington to visit my college suitemate, Brandy, and her family. I got to keep Ella Kate and Emory for a few days. It was nice hanging out and enjoying a little downtime. Phillip came down on Thursday to join us (and somebody was QUITE excited to see his "dada").
Sadly, when taking care of both babies (they had a daily competition to see who could make me change the most diapers) one doesn't have much time to take pictures. I did grab a couple of cute ones though:

Brandy and I walked in to Little Man sleeping like this. |

By the time I got to Ella Kate's crib she had changed a bit, but she was lying like Emory. Pretty darn cute. |
Since Phillip was down and could help in juggling two babies, we decided that Friday would be a good day to head to the beach. Unfortunately, Ella Kate was sick and couldn't go. Phillip and I decided to make the best of it with Emory. He hadn't been to the ocean since he was 11 weeks old, so it was anyone's guess as to how well (or not so well) he would do.

As it turns out, he appreciated the ocean MUCH more when he was a newborn. |
|
Sand? It's everywhere. I think they should hold me all day instead. |
|
Best buddies. |

...and then Emory decided to give him his version of kisses. |
|
This was .2 seconds after putting him in the car. |
Emory had taken several rounds of steps since April, but he never consistently walked. Brandy and Will have this L-shaped sofa and a HUGE ottoman. Guess who made use of that thing? He walked almost the entire time. When we returned home, he returned to crawling (for a bit). Apparently, we need new living room furniture.
Thanks for having us guys! We had a great time!!!
