We had the esteemed pleasure of spending our Fourth of July weekend in Raleigh, NC. It's always an adventure when we embark upon this journey. There are so many people that we love up there. We don't get to make many trips up that way anymore, so we try to visit as many people as possible when we do visit.
Jenni and Joel hosted us for the weekend (we cannot thank you enough). Brandy even made her way up to Raleigh to bring me the bridesmaid dress for her wedding and shop a little with Jenni and myself while the men tore up their trucks. Fortunately during the Fourth, there is one event in Raleigh (technically Cary) that a LOT of people attend. It worked out so well that so many of our friends were going to the festivities at Regency Park! We were able to see Katie Holloman, Lindsey Moyer, the Lowes (who will soon welcome baby Lucy), and more. We even missed a couple of people there (sorry y'all). The NC Symphony plays prior to the fireworks. They were AMAZING!!! Phillip and I left a little early so we only saw some of the fireworks, but it was so nice catching up with friends that we seldom get to see. We were able to go to Hope Community Church on Sunday with Katie. Although we missed seeing Mike Lee speak, it's always a great service at Hope. (Hint hint - we strongly suggest this church for those of you seeking a church to call home around the Raleigh area.) After church we visited the Cobbs in Cary. I started nannying for Laura and Russ when John Ryan was less than two months old. He's now 5 (and a half...mustn't leave off the half). Catherine just turned ten. Both John Ryan and Catherine were in our wedding. It's amazing how much they have both grown. I miss them terribly. Phillip and I got to see all sorts of tricks and shows during our visit with them.

Sadly, by the time Sunday rolled around, we were in such a rush to see everyone and get home that pictures ceased to exist. :-( We had a great time visiting everyone. If we saw you, we can't wait to see you again. If we missed you, our home is always open for visits! :-) Thanks to all who made our trip enjoyable. Until next year...
