Day 2 of our trip began with an excursion to Tybee Island. We spent a lot of time at the lighthouse and the fort. Below are some pictures.

Savannah - Day 2
Savannah - Day 1
Last year we decided to take a vacation to Savannah, but due to a lot of circumstances we had to push the trip back to this year. We had to make the trip over my fall break from school, so we left Saturday and came back Wednesday. We made reservations at Armstrong Inns in the historic district of Savannah. We stayed on Chatham Square.
Obviously, our bed was super comfy! I wish I could recreate this at our house. Most of the art in the suite was painted by William Armstrong, one of the owners.
The dining area in the kitchen. One of our favorite aspects of this bed & breakfast was the fact that pastries, fresh fruit, desserts, etc. were all delivered fresh to the suite every day.
Sadly, this was not the square we stayed on. We found out the day we got there that Robert Redford was using Chatham Square to film his new movie, The Conspirator. We did a lot of walking everywhere, so this was one of the squares we strolled through.
At the suggestion of my cousin and his wife, our first dinner was at Churchill's Pub. Thanks for the suggestion Trevor!

The Forgotten One
We always post about Mason. He seems to do more things that are just odd. Gracie's the smart one (Phillip doesn't agree, but he isn't author of this post so he can rewrite history later). I thought I'd post a picture of sweet Gracie since her younger brother gets all of the attention. The hand in the picture is her grandpa. She has her own pink toys at the grandparents because she's the only granddaughter.
Amusement in the Small Things
Mama Harris says that she keeps checking the blog and we haven't updated. She's right. Between school, work, and life in general it just has not been a priority. I promise to make it up though! We just got back from our long awaited vacation to Savannah, Georgia. I decided I'll try to do a post per day since we saw so much down there. Until then, here's lovely Mason with a new "toy" of sorts. Enjoy!

Thrice as Bad
This week has been a rough one! Beside the other drama, my 16 year old car has finally decided to give us a little bit of trouble. In all fairness, I drive that car hard. Tonight was the THIRD time this week that my car messed up. Luckily, Phillip was driving (and off work). It was about 9:30 PM. Definitely not safe for me to be broken down on the side of the road alone. We made a pit stop by Auto Zone for some new spark plugs.
The new one definitely shines brighter than the old.

Phillip worked on the car while I kept him company. I asked him why he had a car size battery strapped to the front of his four wheeler. He said his battery had died, so he improvised. I found this wildly amusing and told him it was ghetto. He disagreed, and simply told me that it was "redneck rigged." All he's missing is the Kentucky chrome (aka: duct tape).
This officially sabotaged our weekend. We had planned on traveling to Florence for the long weekend. Our plans were to go down tomorrow specifically to celebrate our niece's 10th birthday...sorry Logan! We hope you have a terrific birthday!
Looks like we're stuck in the garage. Prayers please! We need this car to last through my student teaching next semester. Since I won't be getting paid, we don't want to stretch our income to include another car payment. I know it can make it! (Have to brag on Phillip for a second. He's worked on my car three times already this week. Super hubs!)
