I have so much blogging to do that I am likely to never catch up at this rate, so in an attempt to give a quick snippet of everything from the past 2 months (that I have failed to document) I am posting pictures and little blurbs. Sorry, but this is about the best I can offer right now. I'm busy enjoying my summer with a VERY active one year old!
First things first, we took Emory to the lake in April for the first time.
This experience was a hard-fought one for the parents. |
I believe Emory is a land lover. |
Someone is pretty good at relaxing on a boat. |
This little duckling eluded us the whole day. Dana did her best to wrangle him in though. |
On Sunday, Emory rode jet skis for the first time! (He HATES life jackets.) |
Our friends have the most adorable little boy, Kyler, and he seems to be the president of Emory's fan club. |
We had such a fun time. Hopefully, we'll get a chance to go back to the lake a few more times before summer comes to an end.
Mother's Day looked a little something like this:
Gotta say, this made it a perfect day! |
We went to Florence for Memorial Day weekend. It always falls around Phillip's birthday, so it's fun to get together with his family and celebrate. First up on the agenda was Emma's birthday party (she and Phillip share the same birthday).
I should go ahead and mention that Emory refused to sleep in Florence. |
Listening to her choir serenading her. So serious. |
Emory with his Grammie and cousin, Logan. |
On Sunday, Phillip's mom fixed an awesome lunch to celebrate her son turning the big 3-1! Our nieces stayed with their Grammie during the weekend, so they were there to keep Little Man occupied and happy. Mama and Daddy love those kind of breaks!
Grammie apparently prompted Taylor to come outside so she could play with Emory and I could get pictures of them. Taylor, instead, came outside and asked that I take her picture so she could go back in and finish her show on TV. Classic Taylor. |
Emory likes driving the mule. |
He's also amused by his crazy cousin. |
Best seat in the house. |
Emory likes Grammie's dessert. |
Boys in a field. |
Tell me it's not gorgeous down there! |
...and Grammie got someone to finally sleep! |
Our last day in SC was spent being kind of lazy. We took Emory to see Phillip's great uncle. Every time we come down we end up coming home with eggs from Uncle Joe.
Uncle Joe, Phillip and Little Man...it was a little humid. |
Emma wanted to feed the chickens. She REALLY liked them. |
Uncle Joe bought one of Phillip's grandfather's first tractors a LONG time ago. Here she sits. |
Emory on Papa's old tractor. |
Nicki's name was etched into the tractor. How fun?! |
Emma got herself an egg! |
Sweet boy. |
Emma had to check out the tomatoes. She wanted the non-existent red ones. Patience Grasshopper, patience. |
After a quick visit to the produce stand, we loaded up and headed home. We had such a great time. Can't wait to visit again soon!
